Research Paper Topic: The Development of Personality

The topic that I chose to write my final paper on is The Development of Personality (hence the title of this blog). I chose to write about this topic after being inspired by a friend of mine to do some research about personality. I had a very long discussion at a local Starbucks about what exactly determines somebody's personality. Is it learned over time? Is it something that people are just born with? Can a person's personality change over time? Well after the abundance of questions about this particular topic, I decided to go ahead and conduct some research on it. After conducting my research using sources like apa.org and Pearson Higher Education, I found that personality is influenced biologically and environmentally. Personality can be influence biologically via the perception of how they view the way they look, physical body composition, hair, eye color, skin tone etc. Also, the environment that a person is surrounded by will also have an effect on a person's personality. During the three stages of adulthood, adolescence, and childhood, a person is at a very vulnerable state. The things that they are exposed to during those particular times can overall influence their development of a personality.
